On Sunday (17th Oct) afternoon, Helen Sharpe beat off all competition to win the Mizuno Amsterdam Half Marathon in a personal best time of 1hour 20mins and 16s. A strong push by France's Noemie Claeyssens in the second half of the race produced an exciting sprint finish. Noemie passed Helen in the Olympic Stadium with only 300 metres to go, but Helen managed to find another gear to claim back the lead spot she had held throughout the race. The race started outside the Olympic stadium, passing around the centre of Amsterdam before heading back to the stadium throughout the famous Vondelpark. The almost perfect weather conditions were spoilt by a stiff breeze through sections of the course, but this was more than made up by the great crowds lining the route. Senoir Women Results
