Racing around the world

Over the years, I have been lucky enough to run in some amazing places around the world.  This post is dedicated to remembering some of them.
Picture
Amsterdam, The Netherlands
I actually ran many races in the Netherlands, as I lived there for two and half years.  However, my proudest achievement was winning the Amsterdam Half Marathon in 2010.  Winning flowers is a real feature of Dutch racing, and here is the wonderful bunch I got at the half marathon.

New York, USA
I ran in the New York Rock'n'Roll 10k in October 2012.  I was pleased to finish 5th in such a high profile event.  Here I am pictured with the top three men on the podium.

Sydney, Australia
I actually raced here twice, once in April 2009 and once in February 2012.  Both races were 10k's organised by Sydney Striders, a local running club.  Here I am being interviewed after the Lane Cove 10k in 2009.

San Sebastián, Spain
In 2014 I raced the Maratón internacional de San Sebastián, finishing in 6th place.  This race is the Spanish Championship, so the standard was really high.  Here is a nice photo of me leading a big group of men.

Stockholm, Sweden
In August 2013, I ran in the Midnattsloppet, or the "Midnight Run" - a 10k race finishing late in the night (at midnight for some of the runners!).  Here I am collecting my prize for 3rd place.

Budapest, Hungary
The Night Run was a half marathon I ran in 2015.  Actually, I hadn't planned to run this race, but signed up when I saw an advert on the side of bus while on holiday in Budapest.  I'm glad I did - I came first!  Here I am posing with the trophy.

Toronto, Canada
Here's me warming up in front of the CN Tower before a 5k race in Toronto.
Picture
Seville, Spain
This was a Christmas present to go and run the Medio Maratón Sevilla-Los Palacios.  I ran the half marathon in 1:22:16 and finished in 6th place.

Sarasota, Florida, USA
Here I ran the Phillippi Shores 7k.  It was a nice and small race organised by a local school, and I came 1st woman and 4th overall.  Here I am with some of the other winners.
Picture
Baltimore, USA
Here was the reward after this 5k race in Baltimore, USA.  It was run on St Patrick's Day, 2016, hence the name - Shamrock 5k.

Brussels, Belgium
I ran the Brussels 20k in May 2012.  Here I am drinking a Belgian beer in celebration afterwards!
